Views from the Watchstone

The Watchstone is situated at the south end of the Brig O'Brodgar, on the edge of the Loch of Stenness and not far from the Standing Stones. It is the prime site for watching the progress of the sun as it sets further and further south. There are multiple alignments which pinpoint how many days it is until the solstice. It is also a good place to observe birds, Common Seals, Otters (occasionally) and to contemplate the serenity of the surroundings. New pix now added from 6th and 9th December.
